FAQ – My child is 4 or 5 (or older) and still having accidents in the day.

Accidents are all part of potty training, but if they carry on after your child has reached the age of five, it’s a good idea to get them checked out by your doctor so they can do a bladder and bowel assessment. Some children have wee and poo accidents because they’re constipated and this is something that needs treating with laxatives to help clear their bowel and keep their poo soft. Daytime accidents can also be helped by getting your child into a toilet routine both at home and at school and making sure they drink well throughout the day.
